Shailesh has over 30 years of experience in the Architectural industry. He was born in London, England and moved to California with his parents at a very young age. Raised in the hospitality industry by his parents, he chose architecture as his profession and received his Bachelor of Architecture Degree from the University of Oklahoma, working for multiple Architecture firms while attending the university. Prior to co-founding DIG Architecture in 2007, Shailesh gained valuable experience while working with highly acclaimed architectural firms such as; The Benham Group, HTB, Architectural Design Group, Rosser International, The Sizemore Group, McClier Corporation, RJT+R, Perkins & Will, and John Portman & Associates among others.
Shailesh played an integral role in the marketing and business development for DIG Architecture along with general management of the company. He is a licensed architect in multiple states, a LEED accredited professional and is also active in multiple organizations including AAHOA (Asian American Hotel Owners Association), AIA (American Institute of Architects), GIACC (Georgia Indo-American Chamber of Commerce), TiE (The Indus Entrepreneurs) and is also involved in national and local business & social organizations.
He is an active member of the Atlanta Hospitality Alliance and in the summer of 2009 Shailesh was invited to be a speaker at the annual Midwest Lodging Investors Summit (MLIS) in Chicago, Illinois and participate in the panel discussion titled "Green Hotels.” Most recently, he was chosen and invited to be on the Board of Directors for the organization “Atlanta: City of Peace” & “The Global Peace Museum” and is currently serving as the secretary of that association.Because of Shailesh’s heritage and ties to the hospitality and commercial real estate development community, his architectural practice has executed numerous hospitality projects in addition to other building types and the business continues to thrive as the development industry grows and changes.
